The < a href="javascript:void(0);">Global Bank has issued a statement regarding the correction of the doing Business report data and the findings of an internal audit of data integrity in the reporting process.

According to the institution, over the past 17 years, the Doing Business report has been a valuable tool for many countries to compare their regulatory framework governing business activity with that of other countries.

The Doing Business indicators and methodology are designed to help countries give impetus to reforms aimed at improving the overall business climate.

As we indicated in our statement of August 27, informs a press release, irregularities have been reported regarding changes to the data of the Doing Business 2018 and Doing Business 2020 reports, published in October 2017 and 2019 respectively.

According to the Global Bank, management immediately requested a systematic review and evaluation of changes to the data after the institutional process of reviewing the last five Doing Business reports.

Management also requested the Vice-Chair of Internal Audit of the < a href="javascript:void(0);">World Bank to conduct a data integrity assurance review in the Doing Business report production process and to verify management's review of irregularities in the Data from Doing Business reports between 2016 and 2020.

After an in-depth review by management and discussions with our institution's Board of Directors, the Global Bank today released a comprehensive review of data irregularities and corrections to data for the four countries concerned; an independent verification of the review of irregularities of the data carried out the Vice-Presidency of Internal Audit of the groupe de la WorldBank.

It highlights the findings of the Data Integrity Assurance Review in the production of the Doing Business report by the Vice-Chair of audit of the group of the GlobalAncial (GIA), as well as the measures that have been and will be taken to strengthen the overall environment internal control and address the underlying vulnerabilities identified in the report.

"While this has nothing to do with the data irregularities discussed above, the Bank is also launching an external review of the Doing Business methodology with the aim of strengthening this product and its usefulness to stakeholders around the world, the results of this exam are expected in mid-2021", informs the World Bank. It specifies that it will finalize the modalities of publication of the Doing Business 2021 report in the coming months, incorporating the data corrections mentioned above.

Finally, it will study and address the findings of the various reviews generated in this and future editions of the Doing Business report.
