A series of high level meetings were held at the Qatar enters an Egyptian delegation led by Hossam Heiba, CEO of General Investment Authority and free zones (GAFI ) ), and Ghada Nour, Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade responsible for the promotion of investments and government offers. The aim is to promote investment opportunities in Egypt and to explore potential partnerships with major companies Qataries.

During the Egyptian visit to Qatar, the delegation met with Rashid Al-Mansouri, CEO of the Aamal company, whose representatives have shown a keen interest in the development of the group in Egypt. Les priority sectors identified are new and renewable energies, the pharmaceutical industry, pneumatics, metallurgy and construction automobile. Aamal also said he was open to the acquisition of businesses existing ones or the creation of partnerships for new projects in order to increase its production capacities and to strengthen its presence on the Egyptian market.

The delegation interviewed the Retaj Group, hotel management company, in order to examine its expansion plans in Egypt. The president of the group welcomed the support provided by GAFI during of the creation of Retaj's Egyptian subsidiary, which will manage a new hotel. He also highlighted the company's growing interest in management other hotels and tourist resorts in the country.

Likewise, the maintainer Egyptian informed Retaj's representatives about the latest developments in business climate and government efforts to simplify investment procedures. They also presented an overview of Egyptian tourism sector and the incentives put in place, stressing the ambition of the State to double the number of foreign tourists in the years to come.
