The United Nations Educational Organization, the Science and culture announces financial support of around 50 million dollars (27.8 billion FCFA) to support the implementation of the Plan National Development Programme (PND) 2026-2030 of Côte d'Ivoire.

The announcement was made by the representative of UNESCO, Mame Omar Diop, after a hearing with the Minister of Planning and Development Development, Souleymane Diarrassouba.

This financial envelope aims to support several projects governments in strategic sectors, including education, culture, science, communication and information. Exchanges have also made it possible to take stock of current programs and to reaffirm UNESCO's commitment to support the priorities of the 2026-2030 PND.

Since 2012, Côte d'Ivoire has successively implemented three National Development Plans covering the periods 2012-2015, 2016-2020 and 2021-2025, with the aim of transforming the economy, improving living conditions and reducing poverty and inequalities.

The new PND expects growth economic average of 7.2% over the period 2026-2030, an objective higher than forecasts by the World Bank, which expects growth of 6.4% until 2027.
