France: 15 departments under red heatwave alert
Victim of extreme heat that stirs up the fire from one place to another, France currently has 14 departments on red heatwave alert in addition to the Gironde where the fire is gaining ground considerably. According to scientists, this situation is due to global warming. More precisely, to greenhouse gas emissions which increase both the intensity, duration and frequency of fires.
Ukraine: Prosecutor General and Head of Security fired
"I have made a decision to relieve from their duties the prosecutor general" Iryna Venediktova, "and the head of the security services" (SBU) Ivan Bakanov, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday. This decision follows suspicions of betrayal of local officials to the benefit of Russian authorities who are still bombing Ukraine. United Kingdom: Farnborough Airshow opens in heat wave
While the UK is experiencing heat waves leading to extreme temperatures, the UK's Farnborough Airshow opens as air traffic picks up and defense budgets rise. Spanning five days, the show will welcome 80,000 attendees. According to Richard Evans, an analyst at Cirium, "this is going to be the hottest Farnborough ever". He suggests to finish: "take a lot of water, a hat and don't be surprised if you see a lot of sweaty people". Remember that at Farnborough, a temperature of 37degC is announced on the tarmac where dozens of aircraft are on display, from Airbus and Boeing wide-body aircraft, the A350 and the 777x, to helicopters and fighter jets.
