COP-15: the historic agreement finally adopted to try to save nature

Countries around the world adopted a historic agreement yesterday in Montreal to try to stop the destruction of biodiversity and its resources, which are essential to humanity. Indeed, more than 190 states have reached an agreement under the aegis of China, president of COP15, after four years of difficult negotiations, ten days and one night of diplomatic marathon.

Also known as the “Kunming-Montreal Agreement”, this “peace pact with nature” aims to protect land, oceans, and species from pollution, degradation, and the climate crisis. The countries have agreed on a roadmap that aims to protect 30% of the planet by 2030 and to increase annual aid for biodiversity in developing countries to 30 billion dollars.

Rape and two sexual assaults: Harvey Weinstein found guilty
