France: The heatwave is back on Wednesday

“The 3rd heatwave episode in summer 2022, which began on July 31 at the national level, and mainly concerned the Mediterranean regions in recent days, extends from this middle of the week to the south-west, going up along the Atlantic coast,” warned Méléo-France in a bulletin Tuesday evening. Thus, the heatwave is regaining ground in the south-west on Wednesday with maximum temperatures forecast of up to 40 degrees locally, but is expected to end Sunday with thunderstorms expected throughout France. Maximum temperatures will reach “34 to 37degC from the Pays-de-Loire to Poitou-Charentes, and 36 to 38degC generally over the south-west with local peaks at 39 or 40degC.”
