Apple wants to detect child sexual abuse images on its phones and servers

Apple on Thursday unveiled new tools to better spot sexual images involving children on its iPhone, iPad and iCloud server in the United States, raising concerns among internet privacy advocates. Apple plans to use cryptography tools to compare photos uploaded to its iCloud server with those stored in a file managed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
