4 July massacre suspect charged with seven murders
The young man accused of opening fire during the U.S. Fourth of July celebrations in Highland Park, near Chicago, has been charged with seven counts of murder and could spend the rest of his life in prison, authorities said Tuesday.Robert Crimo, 21, could face "dozens of other charges centered on each of the victims" that will be detailed later, Lake County District Attorney Eric Rinehart said. If convicted, he could be sentenced to life in prison without parole, he said.

Saudi Arabia hosts largest pilgrimage since pandemic
The largest Muslim hajj pilgrimage since the Covid-19 pandemic begins Wednesday, with hundreds of thousands of worshippers, often unmasked, around Islam's holiest site, Mecca, in western Saudi Arabia.
