Shooting incident in Cholet: two dead, one injured

Aged 7 and 24 respectively, a boy and his sister lost their lives on July 14 in Cholet (Maine-et-Loire) during a dramatic “shooting incident” that occurred during the fireworks display. Another injured victim was hospitalized but his condition remains unknown. The public prosecutor of Angers, Eric Bouillard, said that the incident took place shortly before 11 pm “on stabilized ground near the Cholet stadium” while the brother and sister were watching the fireworks display with other members of their family and were “about fifty meters from the shooting range.” An investigation for manslaughter has been opened.

BORDEAUX: The heatwave continues

Since last Tuesday, 5,000 hectares have been charred and more than 10,000 people have been evacuated from the fires ravaging Gironde.
