The ranking is based on the year-end 2021 Tier 1 capital of banks worldwide. Despite a very challenging macroeconomic environment exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, Zenith Bank's financial performance for the year was underpinned by double-digit growth in gross profits, with an improved market share in the Nigerian market.market share improvement in the retail and corporate sectors and for the 13th consecutive year, the bank retained its position as the largest Tier 1 bank in Nigeria with Tier 1 capital of $2.75 billion, becoming the 460th largest bank in the world.
