The information given this Thursday, February 18, 2021 by the National Bureau of Statistics on its website, indicates that the Nigerian economy has emerged from the recession. Gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 0.11% in the last quarter of 2020, compared to a year earlier.

In the third quarter of 2020, Nigeria's GDP had declined by 3.6%. The National Bureau of Statistics informs that the country's economic situation improved by 0.11% in the last quarter of the same year.
The good level of the Nigerian economy is due to the fact that the fall in oil production has been offset by the growth of Nigerian agriculture and telecommunications. Oil production fell slightly to 1.56 million barrels per day in the 4th quarter of last year, up from 1.67 million barrels in the previous quarter. These figures show that the country can fare better in 2021.
