The President of the Commission of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), Abdallah Boureima was received by the President of the Republic of Niger, Mohamed Bazoum on Monday April 26, 2021.

The President of the WAEMU Commission indicated that he handed over to the President of Niger the balance sheet of his 2017-2021 mandate, specifying "having carried out this mandate within the framework of a roadmap of the Conference of Chiefs States of the Union and it was a great pleasure to submit this report to the President of the Republic".

Abdallah Boureima also discussed with the Head of State the future of the institutions of the community space. The discussions focused on "the future of our Institutions, given that our community space has been faced with a triple challenge during the period of our mandate, in particular the health and security challenges and the socio-economic crisis that we are experiencing", he said. Also, the issue of food and nutritional security was largely addressed by the two personalities.
