The government announced on Thursday, September 4, 2025 its decision to create a new airline, in a new era of refoundation. The announcement was made in at the end of a meeting of Government in the course of which it adopted the Draft Decree on creation of a mixed economy company called “NIGER AIR INTERNATIONAL”.

Niger intends to have an airline national. According to the Council of Ministers press release, “On the right in line with the Vision of the President of the Republic, in its development component production bases for economic sovereignty, the State decided to creation of a national airline called NIGER AIR INTERNATIONAL”.

The creation of this airline “aims to ensure internal access and external to our country by air and consequently contribute to socio-economic development of the country” according to the press release
