During its raid on a major warehouse in an isolated estate in the Ikorodu district of Lagos, the National Drug Control Agency (NDLEA) finds 1.8 tons (1,855 kilograms) of drugs Illicit goods worth over $278,250,000, equivalent to approximately 194,775,000,000 N in street value, were seized.

NDlea seized 193 billion naira worth of crack cocaine in Lagos. An operation that seems to be the largest cocaine seizure in the history of Nigeria's first anti-narcotics agency. The director of media and advocacy of NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, after the operation, addressed the press, noting that four drug barons, including a Jamaican and the warehouse manager, had been arrested as part of a good operation coordinated and led by intelligence, which lasted two days in different locations in Lagos State.

So, the names of the drug leaders were revealed under their custody. They are Kelvin Smith, 42, from Kingston, Jamaica, Mr. Soji Jibril, 69, a native of Ibadan, Oyo State, Wasiu Akinade, 53, from Ibadan, Oyo State; Sunday Oguntelure, 53, from Okitipupa, Ondo State, and Emmanuel Chukwu, 65, Originally from #39; Ekwulobia, in Anambra state, all members of an international drug syndicate that the Agency has been following since 2018.

According to Femi Babafemi, “The preliminary investigation reveals that class A drugs were stored in the residential subdivision, hence the Cartel was trying to sell them to buyers in Europe, Asia, and other parts of the world. The drugs were stored in 10 travel bags and 13 canisters.”
