Abdellatif Jouahri announces that Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) is in contact with three foreign central banks on the implementation of electronic money. These are the central bank of Canada, the central bank of England and the central bank of Switzerland.

At a regular press briefing, Abdellatif Jouahri of Bank Al-Maghrib gave further details about the special arrangement put in place in recent months. He announced that BAM has set up three commissions.
"One for the electronic money of the central bank and the other two for crypto-assets as well as the monitoring of developments," explains the number one of the central bank of the Kingdom. "We don't want to see a divide between what is being done abroad and the domestic market," he said.

In the first place, digital currency will be used only in relations and exchanges between the central bank and other banks. The deployment process will be carried out in retail currency for the general public.
