The Mauritanian government inaugurated on Monday 24 November: a digital portal dedicated to the Official Journal, now accessible free of charge to the public.

Mauritania has launched a vast project of modernization of its public services, to make them more accessible and effective thanks to digital technology. Several platforms have recently been launched online, facilitating access to information, administrative procedures and to essential services for citizens. The initiative aims to modernise access to legal texts, to strengthen the transparency of information public and to facilitate the consultation of the laws in force, bringing together more than 30,000 authenticated legislative and regulatory texts.

This new portal centralizes all editions of the Official Journal since 1959, as well as a selection of laws, decrees, international conventions and other regulatory texts. It is available in Arabic and French and integrates an advanced search engine allowing legal professionals, investors, researchers, researchers, administrations and citizens to quickly access authenticated and updated versions.

By offering a deposit comprehensive legal text of more than 30,000 authenticated texts covering more than six decades, this platform is a major step in modernization of the Mauritanian legal system and in the alignment of the country with the best international practices in digital governance.
