The International Finance Corporation (IFC) and the West Africa-based mobility start-up, Gozem, have announced a $10 million (6.25 billion CFA francs) partnership. This new agreement signed between the two entities will serve to support a total of 6,000 motorcycle cab drivers in Togo and Benin in the acquisition of new vehicles to increase their income.

Gozem and IFC are partnering to enable 6,000 drivers to change their motorcycle cabs. These vehicles will be available for lease or rental, depending on the drivers' needs. This project will also consist of deploying electric motorcycles in the markets where Gozem is present, with a first experience in Togo and Benin. In this dynamic, the two new partners "are working together to test the electric motorcycles in the operating conditions of motorcycle cabs" in the next 12 months.

For the two partners, the adaptation of hybrid motorcycles, on a large scale, "will not only significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but will also help drivers to reduce their fuel consumption. emissions, but also save drivers money through reduced energy and maintenance costs.
