Spot gold rose 0.3% to $3,336.39 per ounce at 12:11 GMT. The precious metal is up around 1.9% this week. American gold futures gained 0.1% to $3,346.60. The dollar index fell by 0.2% and was heading for a second straight week of decline, making gold cheaper for holders of other currencies
.Elsewhere, spot silver rose 0.2% to $36.9 per ounce, while palladium lost 0.1% to $1,135.79 per ounce. Platinum rose 1.5% to $1,387.54 per ounce, heading for a fifth straight week
of gains.
