The price of gold fell today. The strength of the dollar has made the metal denominated in greenbills less affordable for buyers holding other currencies.

U.S. gold futures also fell 0.3% to $1,980.10, while spot gold was down 0.3% to $1,962.36 per ounce, at 0049 GMT. The Dollar Index is up 0.3%.

Silver fell by 0.7% to $23.91 per ounce, platinum fell by 0.5% to $986.39. In contrast, palladium rose by 0.1% to $1,461.80.
