The CEO of the Banque Populaire, Issa Fadiga receiving his trophy from aimé Adjé, Chief of Staff of the Minister of Health (DR) The Director General of the Banque Populaire de Côte d'Ivoire, Issa Fadiga was distinguished "best public bank manager". This distinction from the African Observatory for the Promotion of Good Governance confirms the efforts of this financial expert who proceeded to the recovery of the Caisse nationale des caisses d'épargne (Cnce) which became the Banque populaire de Côte d'Ivoire.

It was during the traditional celebration of "excellence and merit" in Côte d'Ivoire, an event of the African Observatory, in Abidjan-Marcory, at the Azalaï Hotel that Mr. Fadiga received his award, December 19, 2020.

From November 2015 to November 2017, Mr Fadiga chaired the monitoring committee of the provisional administration of the former Cnce. In this capacity, he is in charge of the development and implementation of the bank's restructuring strategy approved by the Council of Ministers on 16 March 2016. It will thus steer the adoption of the restructuring and recapitalisation plan in May 2017. In the expenses assigned to him, he leads and monitors the recapitalization and restructuring process. In September 2017, he obtained the lifting of provisional administration by the Banking Commission.

This is the place to recall that the man who successfully led the restructuring of the Banque populaire de Côte d'Ivoire, has, to his credit, several expertises. These include, among others, expertise in several areas of finance and banking, namely, bank resolution and restructuring (Fmi), the "Financial Institutions Credit Curriculum" (Johannesburg, South Africa), the "Senior Leadership Program" (Singapore), the International Trade certification (BHF Frankfurt), the International Trade certification (Citibank Casablanca, Morocco).

With Mr. Fadiga, the ex-Cnce is reborn after escaping bankruptcy. The new financial institution resulting from the restructuring now offers a peaceful social climate. Marked by the revaluation of salaries, the categorical advancement of agents, the dynamisation of actions towards Ivorian SMEs.

This winning return, it should be stressed, is the result of several actions on the part of the restructuring committee. On this push, the bank will record a first positive result since 2011. A remarkable qualitative leap especially since in the 2016 and 2017 financial years, the bank had recorded losses. And this, respectively of 12.4 billion FCFA and 15.1 billion FCFA, according to the data of the ministry in charge of the Budget and the portfolio of the State.

With a total deposit of CFAF 116.3 billion at the end of 2018, the Bank remains modest, as its portfolio of 302,000 active clients remains one of the largest in the sector. Its capital has since been increased to 53 billion FCFA and the institution operates an important network of 73 agencies.

These performances are to the credit of the expertise and managerial genius of the Managing Director, Issa Fadiga and his team.

It should be noted that the "African Observatory for the Promotion of Good Governance" is an apolitical structure, based in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. It brings together several journalists, communicators and the like of all persuasions. Its main objective is to promote african frameworks and skills throughout the African continent.

After the success of the 2017, 2018 and 2019 editions the 4th, that of 2020 is as usual placed under the sign of excellence and merit.
