The first edition of the African Economic and Financial Press Forum (Fapef) was held this Thursday, March 25 in Abidjan. Chaired by the Minister of Economy and Finance of Côte d'Ivoire, Fapef aims to promote development journalism throughout Africa, in partnership with several sub-regional and international institutions.

Enable journalists to be aware of economic and financial issues, instil economic culture while democratizing economic information among the populations and promote the emergence of press organs specializing in economics and finance in the States. These are the issues that fueled the debate and conference panels during the two days of this forum.
“Our countries are only full of political press organs, with the exception of a few that stand out for their attachment to economic information. The state of the economic press is disastrous and he is going to have to rethink things, because a country like Côte d'Ivoire, leader in Uemoa, must not content itself with political debates.
