In the meantime, European equity markets are expected to move little at the beginning of the session. Investors are pausing after Monday's sharp rise and awaiting the House of Representatives' review of the stimulus package proposed by US President Joe Biden, who will then have to ratify the text adopted by Congress. At 7:35 am, the futures contract on the CAC 40 gained 4 points, or 0.07%, according to data from the broker IG Markets. The contract on the DAX 30 was down 3 points, or 0.02%, and that on the FTSE 100 was down 12 points, or 0.2%. In Asia, equity markets are moving in a dispersed order. The Hong Kong Stock Exchange's Hang Seng gained 0.8% at the end of the session, while the Shanghai Composite Index fell 1.1%. In Tokyo, the Nikkei index closed up 1%. Japan's economy grew slightly below initial estimates in the October-December quarter due to weaker-than-expected domestic demand.
