The Regional Council for Public Savings and Financial Markets (CREPMF) and its partners are in workshop this Monday in Lomé as part of the finalization of the preliminary draft Uniform Law on stock market and similar offences on the regional financial market of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU).

This two-day workshop is aimed at the CREPMF General Secretariat, Bâtonniers, magistrates, members of the Community Space Commission, professional market associations and other stakeholders. They will exchange on the proposals and choices made by the work of the working group and finalize the uniform bill.
Once adopted, the WAEMU Financial Market Regulatory Authority will provide WAEMU with an appropriate repressive arsenal to guarantee the integrity and security of transactions.
 Created by an agreement signed between the WAEMU member States on 3 July 1996, crepmf ensures the protection of savings invested in securities, the information of investors and the proper functioning of the regional financial market. The Council's task is also to protect investments giving rise to a public offering procedure in all the Member States of the Community area. It is the only one empowered to regulate and supervise the market and the provision of investment services.
