At the end of its issue by auction of assimilable treasury bonds (OAT), on February 3, 2021, Burkina Faso received more than 33 billion FCFA, or 49.500 million euros. The absorption rate at the end of the operation is 25.52%.

The General Directorate of Treasury and Public Accounting of Burkina Faso has collected 33 billion FCFA on the WAMU financial market. The OAT of maturity 5 years posted a coverage rate of the amount put up for auction of 430.98%. For an amount put up for auction by the issuer of 30 billion FCFA, the Burkinabe public treasury was offered by investors a total amount of bids of 129.293 billion FCFA.
The issuer retained 33 billion CFA francs and rejected the remaining 96.293 billion CFA francs, i.e. an absorption rate of 25.52%. These funds raised are intended to cover the financing needs of the Burkinabe State budget. The issuer intends to repay the securities issued on the first working day following the due date of 4 February 2026. The annual interest rate is 6.25%.
