On October 27 and 28, Abidjan hosted the international conference on the integration of West African capital markets. As such, it is at the heart of their National Development Programs. To this end, the use of financial markets appears not only as a solution but clearly obvious. Also, the evolution of socio-economic realities and the risks related to the financial system call for finding more effective alternatives for the diversification of financing instruments in order to achieve and maintain healthier and more sustainable economic growth. “With this in mind, I want to welcome and encourage the use of Islamic finance instruments, as well as green, social and sustainable bonds which are innovative and have high stakes for infrastructure financing,” added the president of Crepmf. For example, he continues, products such as Sukuks have shown their performance in the alternative financing of infrastructure in West Africa.
