Bank Al-Maghrib ( BAM) announced that during the period from 2 to 8 March this year, the dinar appreciated by 0.51% against the euro and depreciated by 0.66% against the US dollar.

From 2 to 8 March, no auction was carried out on the foreign exchange market, according to information in the recent weekly bulletin. Official reserve assets stood at 332.7 billion dirhams (MMDH), virtually stagnating from one week to the next and slightly falling by 0.2% year-on-year as of February 28, 2023. The total amount of BAM operations outstanding was 85.8 billion dirhams, including 39.9 billion dirhams in the form of 7-day advances following a call for tenders, 23.4 billion dirhams in long-term pensions and 22.4 billion dirhams in long-term guaranteed loans and 100 million dirhams (MDH) in the form of foreign exchange swaps.

The average daily trading volume was 3.1 billion dirhams and the interbank rate averaged 2.50% during this period on the interbank market.
