The yen fell 0.6% to 132.59 per dollar, with 10-year Treasury yields rising 12 basis points to 3.52% to start the week, away from Thursday's low of 3.369%. The Japanese currency gained 2.5% last week. For its part, the dollar has weakened overall. In contrast, the euro gained 0.17% to $1,06885 and the pound sterling rose 0.1% to $1,2190.
For its part, the rand traded at 18.4350 at 07:43 GMT against the dollar, 0.16% less than its previous close
