The member states of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA) announced last weekend an investment of two billion FCFA for the fight against terrorism in the Sahel. This exceptional fund will be made available to policy actors and leaders.

Two billion FCFA in addition to the one hundred million US dollars already disbursed by the three member countries of the G5 Sahel front line.
“By mutual agreement, we, Heads of State and Government of the Union, had decided to grant exceptional financing of two billion FCFA to support the initiative already underway, in particular that of combating terrorism which is accentuated in the WAEMU space. “, specified the Heads of State.
Some member countries, notably Burkina, Mali, Niger and Senegal had supported this project to the tune of one billion FCFA each without forgetting Côte d'Ivoire to the tune of two billion FCFA.
