It was a cooperation agreement between the High Authority for Preventing and Combating Corruption and Related Offences (HAPLUCIA) and the West African Development Bank (BOAD).
Creating the conditions for a better strategy for preventing and effectively combating corruption and other reprehensible practices is the objective of signing a cooperation agreement between HAPLUCIA and BOAD. Indeed, the agreement was signed with a view to effectively preventing, detecting, investigating and combating corruption and similar offences. Thus, the two institutions believe that they are fulfilling a common mission, which is to ensure that financial resources are properly managed and allocated exclusively to targeted projects. This memorandum of understanding will take off over a period of five years. According to the president of HAPLUCIA, Essohana Wiyao, this is a commitment that helps to put an end to this scourge, a gangrene that handicaps the growth of economies and undermines states' development efforts.
For his part, the vice-president of BOAD, Braima Luis Soares Cassama explained that this agreement is in line with the strategic vision of his institution with the “Djoliba Plan”, which is make BOAD the reference bank for a lasting impact on the integration and transformation of West Africa.
