The director, the colonel Ahmadou Thioye takes the opportunity to welcome the collaboration that exists between Customs. and the Defence and Security Forces, while inviting the population to do similarly. The ceremony was presided over by the Governor of Saint-Louis, in presence of administrative, military and paramilitary authorities.
According to Colonel Ahmadou Thioye, Inspector General
Exceptional Class Customs and Regional Director of Northern Customs,
“the quantities seized and which are the subject, today (yesterday, editor's note),
Incineration involves 628 boxes of counterfeit medicines weighing 6
tons 966 kg, 613 boxes of food products that did not comply with the
Prohibition measures weighing 1 ton 700, 72 boxes of cigarettes of
weight of 808 kg, Indian hemp weighing 289 kg, counterfeit bills of
bank, 549 notes of 100 dollars. The market value of all these products
seized is estimated at 384 million CFA francs”.
