The training course on the topic “Cryptocurrency and numerical exchanges: new challenges in the fight against the financing of terrorism” was organized by the MONUSCO Justice Support Section. It is planned for two weeks and aims to strengthen their capacities. to identify and analyze suspicious financial transactions, in a region where several armed groups control mining sites used to fuel conflicts. This training covers investigative techniques digital technology, anonymization methods, encryption technologies and online financing methods exploited by criminal groups.

According to the office manager of MONUSCO in Ituri, this initiative aims to make investigations related to more effective international crimes and terrorism for more justice credible and adapted to local reality.
