After the work of the plenary session of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the structure expresses its satisfaction with Mauritius' efforts to correct its shortcomings in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing. All that remains for the FATF to be sent to the site to verify the guarantees provided by the Government of Mauritius. The exit of Mauritius from the FATF grey list and consequently from the European Union list is therefore on track. During this work, it appears that the FATF management expressed its satisfaction that all the accusations lodged against the Mauritian financial services sector for shortcomings in its fight against money laundering and terrorist financing have been corrected. This is a sign that the FATF leadership has valid reasons for no longer keeping Mauritius on its grey list.
