The money confiscated from Equatorial Guinean Vice President Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mango will eventually be used to fight covid-19 in Equatorial Guinea. The U.S. Department of Justice announces that the $26 million will soon be allocated to the government in the form of vaccines.

26 million dollars belonging to Equatorial Guinean Vice President Téodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue had been confiscated by the USA. The statesman was involved in several corruption scandals and embezzlement of public funds. The US judiciary has accused Teodoro Nguema Obiang Mangue of acquiring $300 million in assets through corruption and money laundering in 2011. This money will be made available to the United Nations for the "purchase and distribution of COVID-19 vaccines" and to the charity Medical Care Development International (MCDI) for the "purchase and distribution of medicines and medical supplies". The two organizations will receive $19.25 million and $6.35 million respectively.
