The head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission said his office has so far been able to seize $153 million plus 80 properties with a total value of $80 million.

The authorities are also seeking to recover $115 million allegedly paid as a bribe to influence the results of the 2015 presidential election. Despite everything, the former oil minister remains for the moment out of reach for the justice of her country, since she fled to the United Kingdom in 2014. Attempts to launch extradition proceedings have so far failed.
