FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION IN WAEMU: A SYMPOSIUM BROUGHT TOGETHER SPACE ACADEMICS IN LOMÉ

An international colloquium on corruption was held on Tuesday 15 December 2020 at the University of Lomé.  e work of this  meeting organised by the Centre for Public Law of the University of Lomé was chaired by Professor Komla Dodzi KOKOROKO, President of the University of Lomé.

The initiative aims to reduce the rate of corruption in the WAEMU area. The theme of the meeting, "Fight against corruption, ethics and deontology in public procurement" was developed by Professor SENI MAHAMADOU OUDRAGO holder of public law at the THOMA SANKARA University of Burkina Faso.

According to the speaker, several million dollars are lost each year in the WAEMU area,  due to corruption.

This symposium will therefore allow the States of the WAEMU  zone to strengthen the fight against fraudulent practices in all its forms and prohibit corruption, especially in public orders.

The Colloquium brought together participants from the WAEMU region, particularly Benin, Burkina Faso, Togo  and others.
