In Guinea, inflation hovers around 12.5%, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea (BCRG) reassures all the same that the Guinean currency is "doing well". Going so far as to boast, this Monday,  May 31, the "good health" of the Guinean currency. According to him, it has been doing better and better over the last ten years.

In the same vein, he adds that exchange rate flexibility was instituted to ensure that exchange rate policy is a kind of buffer against the internal and external shock.

"Since 2011, the gap between the two official market rates and the bureau de change rate is not one percent (1%). This means that the two rates practically merge ... it happens that the official rate is a little above the rate of exchange offices. The unification of the exchange rate is today a vitality, it is good, it is a sign of the health of the Guinean currency," he said.

At the end of last April, the country had reserves of the order of one billion five million dollars. And aims to strengthen foreign exchange reserves so that there is a mattress that can help it withstand shocks of all kinds that can intervene.
