The Public Treasury of Togo, under the responsibility of the Ministry of Economy and Finance, plans to raise 585 billion FCFA in 2021 on the regional market, according to the annual forecast program of issues by auction of WAMU member states.

On a quarterly basis, Lomé plans to raise €185 billion between January and March. The second quarter forecast shows an ambition of 165 billion, against 160 billion in the third quarter and 75 billion.

It should be noted that to date, the Treasury has already borrowed 115 billion on the regional market in January 2021. The first exit had allowed 27.5 billion on January 8, and the second, 88 billion on January 22.

As a reminder, Togo had raised an amount of 623 billion FCFA in 2020 through this financing mechanism, according to data from the Treasury. This represents an increase of 94% compared to 2019 when the country had raised 321 billion.
