Water, sanitation and energy are at the heart of Sustainable Development Goals 6 and 7. Achieving sustainable development in these sectors in a world plagued by climate change poses a major development challenge, particularly for Africa. It will not develop without solving its water, sanitation and energy problems.
Air transport and aviation are still in their infancy in Africa. Despite expected adjustments in travel behaviour due to COVID, the sector will continue to develop in Africa as the continent is vast and land, sea and rail transport infrastructure across the continent is underdeveloped. In addition, the continent's population and the proportion of Africans with the means to travel by air will increase considerably over the next thirty years.
To lead these specialized service lines, ACT Africa is pleased to announce the arrival of:
Alpha Robinson is an engineer by profession with a successful international career spanning over 25 years.
Prior to joining ACT Africa, he was Director General of The Gambia's National Water and Electricity Corporation (NAWEC), where he led the reform agenda supported by the World Bank and other international organizations, to transform NAWEC into a sustainable company.

Prior to joining the AfDB, Alpha held senior positions in various international consulting firms and public institutions in Germany, the United Kingdom and Hong Kong.
