“The draft state budget for the year 2021 would amount to 8,629.1 billion FCFA and should increase to reach 9,129.8 billion in 2022 and 9,916.3 billion in 2023,” said Mr. Touré, at the end of a council of ministers.
He said that budget resources over this period “will remain dominated”, on average, at 77.3%, by “domestic resources,” noting that “70% of the projected expenditure is made up of budgetary expenditure, 20% cash charges and 10% of trust account expenses”
“The structure of budgetary expenditure shows a predominance of capital expenditure, representing 32.1%, followed by personnel expenditure (30.3%), financial expenditure, public debt (13.5%), transfers (12.6%) and purchases of goods and services (11.7%) & nbsp;” noted the government spokesman
Sidi Touré explained that “the main assumptions underlying economic growth over the period 2021-2023 take into account the weakening of the impact of Covid-19 on the economy, the consolidation of socio-political stability and the continuation of reforms structural shapes”.
“They also include the continuity of the investment policy in the sectors that drive growth, the control of inflation as well as the sound management of public finances and the sustainability of public debt”, he continued.
Côte d'Ivoire's 2020 budget is balanced in resources and expenditure at 8,061 billion FCFA, an increase of 9.9% compared to 2019, when it stood at 7,334.3 billion.
