On September 12, 2022, a meeting was held to evaluate the consensual action plan of Mali's national anti-money laundering and terrorist financing (Lbc/Ft) mechanism. This meeting brought together the Malian authorities responsible for combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism (Lbc/Ft), the Joint Evaluators Group made up of countries members of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF), the FATF secretariat and that of the Intergovernmental Group on action against money laundering in West Africa (Giaba).

In a press release, Alousséni Sanou, Minister of Economy and Finance in collaboration with the Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Keeper of the Seals, Mahamadou Kassogue and the Minister of Security and Civil Protection, Brigadier-General Daoud Aly Moahmmedine took part in the discussions, by videoconference, with members of the FATF Joint Africa/Middle East Group (meeting in Livingston, Zambia for the occasion) in the presence of a dele Malian station led by Sékou Amadou N'Doure, project manager in the office of the Minister of Economy and Finance.

At the opening of work, Alousséni Sanou informs that “it is important to express the determination of the Malian authorities to implement the plan of ; actions resulting from the FATF International Cooperation Review Group (ICRG) process.” “We will spare no effort in this context. Thus, the conclusions resulting from the process were communicated to the Council of Ministers by the Minister of Economy and Finance, as well as to all relevant stakeholders,” he adds.

To this end, he reaffirmed Mali's commitment to making every effort to ensure that the national Lbc/Ft system complies with international standards.
