The overall market capitalization increased by 11.6% to reach 24.380 billion.

The Tunis Stock Exchange saw its flagship index, the Tunindex, progress by double digits, from 14.45% in
2017 to 15.76% in 2018, which made it possible to raise it to second place among the Arab Stock Exchanges in
performance terms.
The report also shows a marked increase in the venture capital sector, which has financed projects at
height of 453.1 million dinars.
50% of these projects concerned companies employing less than 20 people, which reveals the importance
of this sector in terms of strengthening SME equity and job creation, in particular
in the interior regions.
In total, the interventions of the various venture capital investment organizations have made it possible to create 7,500
direct jobs in 2018.
CMF achievements in 2018:
With regard to the activity of the stock market regulator, the report presented the achievements of the CMF in terms of
strengthening financial transparency and market integrity.
Fight against money laundering
In this regard, particular attention has been paid to the fight against money laundering and the financing of
terrorism.
The CMF has thus carried out a sectoral mapping of the risks relating to these offences, which has enabled it to
put in place an optimal control program for professionals in the sector in accordance with the
recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (
FATF ).
Amend the regulation on the public offering
The CMF is called upon, according to this report, to amend its regulations relating to public offerings. this
could support national efforts to improve the business climate and encourage the private sector
and, therefore, improve Tunisia's ranking in the annual "Doing Business" report.
Improve the financing rate
Efforts must also continue to improve the rate of financing of private investment via the
financial market, in order to stimulate the growth of national companies and accelerate the pace of
job creations.
For the record, the activity of the Tunis Stock Exchange was marked in 2018 by the introduction of a single company
on the main market, in this case Tunisie Valeurs". This introduction increased the number of companies
listed at 82, according to the report on stock market activity for the year 2018 published on December 31, 2018.
