The Commission of the West African Economic and Monetary Union has launched the Tremplin Start-up competition for start-ups created in one of its member states. The competition aims to support start-ups that stand out with innovative solutions that have an impact on the green economy.

The 1st edition of the Tremplin Start-up competition was launched in collaboration with the Regional Consular Chamber (CCR-UEMOA) and the National Consular Chambers (CCn) of the WAEMU Member States, namely: Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal and Togo.

The objective of this competition is to promote entrepreneurship through financial support ranging from 1 to 15 million FCFA, granted to innovative start-ups that have an impact on the green economy. Through Tremplin Start-up, UEMOA wants to accelerate the development of entrepreneurship in the countries of the community space.

To participate, you must meet the following conditions: be a start-up created after June 30, 2017, carry out its economic activities in one or more WAEMU member States, contribute to the green economy, and get in touch with an entrepreneurship support structure for the submission of your application file. In addition, the main promoter must have been born before 30 June 1975, and be a citizen or resident of a WAEMU member State.

The deadline for submission of applications is 30 November 2020.
