The Corruption Perception Index (CPI) was Tuesday published by Transparency International. It turns out that Gabon gets a score of 29 out of 100, confirming a worrying stagnation in the country.

Gabon, through the annual report of Transparency International, is ranked at 135 â Rank out of 182. This reflects a high level of corruption in public institutions, according to the Gabonese Press Agency.

Regionally, Gabon is below of the average of 33 out of 100 recorded in sub-Saharan Africa, reinforcing the perception of fragile governance. The score of 29/100 given in 2025 corresponds to that obtained in 2015.

On a global scale, the global average of the CPI 2025 fell to 42, its lowest level in over a decade, with 122 out of 182 countries that score less than 50.

Transparency International warns that the absence of courageous leadership in the global fight against fragile corruption international anti-corruption action and risks reducing pressures by in favor of reforms in many countries.
