The World Bank Group presents its response program to help developing countries mobilize finance. These funds will help to address food insecurity, protect people, preserve jobs, build resilience and relaunch growth. The crisis response framework is structured around four axes of action. First, the aim will be to combat food insecurity by supporting production, facilitating trade, providing assistance to vulnerable people and investing in sustainable food systems. These measures are in line with the program to combat food insecurity announced by the World Bank Group on May 18, 2022. Second, protecting people and preserving jobs to help mitigate the impact of crises in the medium and long term. Second, resilience must be strengthened by identifying and supporting approaches that will lead to sustainable resilience in the long term. And finally, strengthen policies, institutions and investments to rebuild for better, with a focus on long-term measures that will improve development results. The response aims to confront the confluence of crises while maintaining the momentum of development. The program presents a framework to guide World Bank Group projects over a 15-month period from April 2022 to June 2023. After consulting with shareholders, the framework document confirms that the World Bank Group will provide approximately $170 billion in funding to support this multi-crisis response program.
