In Kenya, Arise Integrated Industrial Platforms has announced its plan to invest over $3 billion for the construction of three export-oriented industrial infrastructure projects and the Rivatex textile company, with gradual implementation over five years. 

The Emirati Arise IIP is a key player in the development of this ecosystem on the continent. This UAE-backed project is simultaneously progressing in the Vipingo Special Economic Zone in Kilifi County, the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone in Mombasa, and the Rift Valley Industrial Park in Naivasha, where construction teams are currently carrying out significant earthworks and industrial infrastructure installation.

According to reports, 30 to 40% of the total amount will be provided as equity, in exchange for stakes in the projects, while the remainder will be mobilized as debt from development finance institutions and other lenders.

As part of its investment, the company also plans to create an $800 million facility, in partnership with Kenyan bank KCB Group and Afreximbank to support investors who will set up in these zones once they become operational.
