L severitit measurement and tracking index é de la Covid-19 of the Bureau de Prospective Economique du Sénégal (BPE) reveals that e n one month, the severity is slightly down in the world, Asia records the largest decline, followed by Africa, Oceania and America. Severity picks up slightly in Europe in one month.

Analyzation by continent shows that for Africa, scores range from 1 (Seychelles) to 0.54 (Eritrea), with an average of 0.77 compared to 0.72 a month ago (31/05/2020). Djibouti, Uganda and South Sudan recorded the largest increases in their index score in one month in Africa (largest decreases in severity). Eritrea, Benin and Gambia recorded the largest declines (largest increases in severity) in their index score in one month in Africa. Senegal, with a score of 0.84 (a low severity, against a score of 0.82 on May 31) slightly improves its score in one month, and is ranked 68th in the world (an increase of eight places in the world ranking in one month) and 19th in Africa.

According to the study, Europe has an average score of 0.80 compared to 0.84 a month ago (as of 31/05/2020). The best score in this continent is 1 (Gibraltar) and the worst performing country has a score of 0.41 (Netherlands). Gibraltar, Armenia and Belarus posted the largest increases in their index score (largest decreases in severity) in one month, on the European continent. Montenegro, North Macedonia and Bosnia recorded the largest declines in their index score (largest increases in severity) in a month in Europe.

In America, scores vary between a minimum of 0.40 (for Honduras, the most severely affected country in this continent) and 1 (Dominica), with an average of 0.75 compared to 0.73 a month ago (as of 31/05/2020). Chile, Haiti and Nicaragua posted the largest increases in their index score (largest decreases in severity) in one month, on this continent. Panama, Belize and Ecuador sign the largest declines in their score in the index (largest increases in severity) in a month on this continent.

Asna scores an average of 0.83 against 0.77 there is a minus, thus becoming the continent with the strongest increase in the index (the largest drop in severity) . The best score (and therefore the lowest severity) is obtained by Taiwan (0.99) followed by Brunei (0.99) and Thailand (0.99). Yemen, Bhutan and Afghanistan posted the largest increases in their index score (largest declines in severity) in a month, in Asia. China, Israel and Kyrgyzstan posted the biggest drops in their index score (biggest increases in severity) in a month, in Asia.

In Oceania, Fiji  and New Caledonia achieve, as of June 28, 2020, the best performances for the Covid-19 severity index (with a score of 1). New Zealand French Polynesia and Australia show a drop in their score in one month.
