Transparency International made public on Tuesday 10 February 2026 the results of the Corruption Protection Index (IPC) 2025. It should be noted that Senegal recorded a slight improvement in his score, while remaining in the zone called “red”.

Data published by Transparency International mention that Senegal gets a score of 46/100, which is one more point only in 2024. This progress considered encouraging by the Civil Forum, even if the country remains below the threshold required to leave the category of States where the The perception of corruption remains worrisome. It should be remembered that, the Senegal had posted a stable score of 45/100 between 2016 and 2020, before experience a decline between 2021 and 2023, with a score of 43/100. The improvement registered in 2025 thus marks a reversal of the trend.

Among the flagship measures are the adoption of several structuring legislative texts, in particular the law amending the legal framework of the National Office for Combating Fraud and corruption (OFNAC); the revision of the law relating to the declaration of heritage; the law on the fight against money laundering, the financing of terrorism and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction ; as well as the operationalization of the Financial Judicial Pool (PJF), committed in the execution of its missions.

Reforms adopted in 2025, including those relating to the creation of OFNAC, to the protection of whistle-blowers, to access to information and to the declaration of assets, accompanied by their implementing decrees in November should, according to the Civil Forum, have a positive impact on the IPC 2026, which is expected to be published in 2027.
