Imports of goods from UEMOA countries to Senegal fell sharply in December 2020. The Directorate of Forecasting and Economic Studies (Dpee) points out that these imports of goods fell by 29.0%. The latest publication “Update de ture @janvier 2020" from the Directorate of Forecasting and Economic Studies indicates that imports of goods from UEMOA countries to Senegal were estimated at 4.9 billion in December 2020 compared with 6.9 billion the previous month, a decrease of 29.0% (-2.0 billion). According to the Dpee, they thus represented 1.4% of the total value of goods imports in the month of December 2020 compared with 1.8% in the previous month. Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal's main supplier within the zone, had an estimated share of 80.1% in December 2020 compared to 78.7% the previous month. Purchases mainly concern edible fruits and vegetables, wood and articles, and artificial plastic materials.
