It is "clear" that the global economy has now entered a recession as a result of the coronavirus pandemic spreading around the world, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Goergieva announced on Friday, adding that the recession will be "rather deep" in 2020.

The boss of the IMF, however, still expects a recovery in 2021 provided that governments take adequate and “coordinated” measures. She also underlined the great need for financing for emerging countries, putting forward the figure of 2,500 billion dollars.
