The Commission European Commission announced on Friday that it was imposing a fine of 2.95 billion euros on Google. The European executive considered that the American tech giant had abused its dominant position in online advertising sector.

This so-called Adtech sanction, which Google immediately announced wanting to challenge was highly expected. The Commission threatened in 2023 to demand the division of part of the group's activities in this area of online advertising, which she finally did not decide at this stage.
